Looks more like the bag is working her! OK, there is one exception to carrying a bag that makes you look too big, and that’s carrying a bag that makes YOU look too small. Don’t do it! Although the bag is cute, it’s simply not proportioned for her body.
Know what I mean? I mean, really, doesn’t she look like an awkward teen with mom’s oversized bag on her arm?

The Michael Kors line has some really neat bags. Now this patent leather number is, well, ok I guess. Patent leather is a funny, kind of shiny material, as I have said before. What do you think about it?

oooh-lah-lah.
This bag is perfect for the summer look. It’s made of butter-soft, creamy French leather and has a kind of east-west thing going. It also comes in different fun colors that can go with almost any outfit. I would like white, thank you.

And at only $345.00, you could take advantage of the trade-in program and have this lovely bag just in time for summer.

Most folks like the Loius Vuitton line, but can’t afford the hefty price tag. After all, who has that kind of money to lose or give away if you lose the bag, or worse, if it’s stolen!
Yes, my friend, there are LV thieves just waiting in baggage claim areas, restaurants and other public areas to swipe your most precious possession: your Louis Vuitton.

I don’t think I could ever afford a Louis, and even if I could I don’t know if I would want to own one. I think that the knock-offers have done such a good job imitating the real deal that it’s kind of losing it’s special feeling, you know what I mean? It’s like everybody and their aunt has an LV, or LO, whichever letter is being used. At any rate, it seems that the only celebrity people who love the REAL Louis Vuitton’s are Kimora Lee Simmons and Tyra Banks. Have you seen their luggage collections?

I posted last weekend about the cool contest that Kelly Ripa is doing with Electrolux. If you haven’t already registered, go ahead and sign up to play the game to win a suite of Electrolux appliances and designer handbags. Since I started playing Saturday night, I have had a LOT of fun. It’s pretty cool to match up Kelly’s outfits and see her fashion style choices.
The bags I initially chose were:
Cate Adair Collections - “Verbena”
LaCroix Designs - “Adaya”
Tracy Reese - “Large Satchel”
Kara James - “Anika”
Jen Groover for Butler Bags - “Allure Hybrid”
You can take a look at my page here. If you do sign up to play, come back here and tell us which bags you chose to start the game with.
This should be fun! Here are more details on how the game is played. Good luck!

The stuff that’s in your bag, that is. Remember this post about that? Waiting to hear from you…
Oh yeah, one thing that I’ve added to my NEW handbag is an extra pair of sunglasses. No big deal I know, but an extra pair ensures that I’m looking fly at all times with no room for digression!

Check out this Digg post:

The person writing the post is obviously selling something, and the commenter feels pretty strongly about his opinion on knock-offs. This is an age-old question with handbag lovers, but would you…
Buy A Fake Designer Handbag?
Yes or No. Tell me why…or why not.

Over at my business blog at Biz Chicks Rule, I talked a little about how my Mother’s Day was, tongue-in-cheek. But what I didn’t share with my readers over there was my Mother’s Day present. I was saving that to share with my fabulous readers here at Banging Bags. You will appreciate this.
I “mentioned” to my husband that I wanted a particular bag for Mother’s Day. More specifically, a Dolce & Gabanna that I had seen in a little specialty boutique here. However, when I looked at the price, I knew it wouldn’t happen, or so I thought. But guess what folks? Yes, you’re right. I got it! I got it!
Here are pictures of me with my new baby.

I was sooooo excited when they (my husband and kids) gave it to me, that I squealed and squealed! My kids thought that was so funny, but I was just that excited.
The look, the feel, the leather smell. It’s all so intoxicating! I am really going to enjoy this bag. Really. I’m going to let her join her handbag brothers and sisters in my closet perhaps towards the end of August, beginning of September, which is right around my birthday time. Guess what I’m going to ask for? You guessed it. Another bag. This time I’m going to choose one from this contest that I posted about. I saw a bag that’s in Kelly Ripa’s collection that made me almost drool.
Anyway, until then it’s just me and D&G. What do you think about it? Isn’t it lovely?

OK, so she really annoys me with overly-fake bubbly television persona, always talking about how wonderful her life is. ugh!
Anyway, no matter how annoying she is, Kelly has this way cool contest going on! The contest is to help Kelly find a stylish handbag(s) and enter to win Electrolux appliances in the meantime. All proceeds from the contest support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF).
Read more about it here. The contest ends May 18, so hurry and enter to win.
Now what I’m loving about this contest is the chance to do like a virtual makeover with Kelly, helping her to choose which designer bags to wear with certain outfits. Although she is annoying, she is a fashionable girl, so the chance to match her bags with her outfits is interesting. How fun is that!

This woman in this news story was arrested for selling designer knock-off purses. Wait, I didn’t even think that was a CRIME! I mean, if and only if the person is selling the merchandise as authentic is when there is a problem. Otherwise, if the customer knows what they are getting (a knockoff), I figure no foul, right?
In a future post, look for my opinion about designer knockoffs. In the meantime, knockoffs are harmless (I think) if they are of solid quality, as close as possible to the original and they LOOK good. I guess this woman was passing off the merchandise as authentic, which is wrong.
But $75.00 for a Louis Vuitton? Come on now, even I know better than that!
